About Me

For more than 25 years, my work has focused on hardening defenses, optimizing architecture, and engineering environments designed to withstand persistent actors and supply-chain vulnerabilities.

In September of 2020, I became the founder of a 501(c)3 nonprofit business called NoShitSecurity, where I designed the Jurassic JungleĀ® Information Security Internship program, establishing several enterprise partnerships to help train and certify the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

Beyond the technology sector, my analytical approach and steadfast resilience were heavily tested through an intense personal chapter involving housing instability and navigating the legal system.

As a self-represented (pro se) litigant, I managed a rigorous legal defense from Municipal up to the Supreme Court of Texas in the matter of Shane Lilly v. The State of Texas, fighting to both protect the life and rehabilitation of my dog, Major, and to close legal loopholes in Texas Health & Safety Code.

Education

Western Governors University

B.S. Cybersecurity Information Assurance March 2026

I attended the BSCSIA program at WGU for approximately 3 terms (80cu), where I gained "exemplary" scores for nearly every exam, but due to a conflict of interest, I have chosen to pursue a more reputable cybersecurity program at SANS Institute of Technology.

Work

Kyndryl

Associate Director, Security Architecture December 2021 - Jan 2024

Promoted three times in two years, started as a contract security architect and became owner of the Azure product, built the design review process and led the design review meetings for the Department of the CISO while we moved 700 apps from IBM to Kyndryl in a single fiscal year. Was part of the hiring team, developed the technical interview process and training materials, performed interviews and trained candidates before leaving in 2024.

NoShitSecurity

Founder September 2020 - now

Over a span of five years, I designed cybersecurity challenges and coursework to integrate proven business concepts, hosted Azure Cloud security engineering training and certification bootcamps, produced live capture-the-flag tournaments with tangible real-life rewards, and crafted cryptographic materials, techniques, and original concepts that covered the full spectrum of team colors and functions by hand without the help of AI.

Noodle.ai

Security Consultant (Sr Security Engineer) May 2020 - November 2020

Led design and architecture of the Noodle Analytics Azure tenant and SOAR systems from the ground up as a greenfield initiative; trained the security engineering teams and established a robust, resilient, automated business offering to satisfy terms of contract.

Safebit Solutions Inc

IT Technician September 2018 - February 2020

Promoted twice in two years, became on-site lead for their biggest client and healed several pain points by writing tools and scripts to streamline or automate processes. Managed datacenter colos and developed the internal SOC platform before leaving to join Noodle.
